Maungaturoto is known as the Heart of the Kaipara District.The small rural township was established in 1863 under the Albertland Settlement Scheme. With the spectacular mountain Pukereinga set in dairy farming country as a backdrop, this vibrant country town has two great cafes, great shopping, as well as plenty of things to see and do all within close proximity.
